JAU Zoom Meeting 6-2-24 "Stop trying to be like Jesus"
Sunday Jun 02, 2024
Sunday Jun 02, 2024
After a three week hiatus, our group continues the conversation on what it means to be inside of Jesus, according to John 14:20. Today's focus is on Col. 2:10, knowing you are complete or who you are supposed to be.
Listen how the pressure to be like the perfect, sinless Jesus has been a burden, leading to feelings of inadequacy and failure. We realize that we are already complete in Christ, without needing to strive for it. It has been a liberating revelation. The group emphasizes that the focus should be on our identity in Christ, rather than self-improvement.

What does God mean when He says "in Jesus we are free from the law of sin and death"? (Rom. 8:2) In this episode, we try to define what this death really is. Is it free from dying physically or something else? How do we know if we are free from this death?

Sunday Apr 21, 2024
Sunday Apr 21, 2024
In this episode, our group continues to explore what it means to live inside of Jesus, as mentioned in John 14:20 "you in Me". We begin to explore the concept of freedom in Jesus and how we experience it. To get a better picture of this freedom, we first tried to define sin and how it enslaves us.

Sunday Apr 14, 2024
Sunday Apr 14, 2024
Today, our group talks about what it is like to not be aware of sin. Living in Jesus means that one does not have any awareness of sin or guilt in their lives. How can this be true when our churches continue to teach that we are still sinners?

JAU Zoom Meeting 4-7-24 "Do I need to go to church?"
Sunday Apr 07, 2024
Sunday Apr 07, 2024
In this episode, one of our attendees, who has not attended church in awhile, announced he was going to church today. This opened up the question, should we encourage people to attend church today, knowing that the common narrative does not match our current perspective? Is there value in attending church, especially if we know so many people are leaving?

Sunday Mar 31, 2024
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
David Fulton joins Dennis in this episode to discuss the subject of Easter and how it is portrayed in contemporary Christianity. David suggests from a quote by Philip Yancy that it is a "two edged story". What does he mean, and how is it that believers still have trouble losing their guilt and shame even after hearing the Easter narrative?

JAU Zoom Meeting 3-24-24 "Are you a palm waiver"
Sunday Mar 24, 2024
Sunday Mar 24, 2024
In this episode, our group discussed how traditions like Palm Sunday keep Christianity focused on the past, not the present reality of being in Christ and He in us. While rituals have value, they unintentionally lead the church to see Jesus as a historical figure, rather than its living reality. Are you waving palms for Christ living in you now?
