The Jesus Conversations Podcast

America has witnessed some great revivals over the centuries, beginning with the Great Awakening in the 1730's. One of the next great moves of God was in the 1960's in America, called by Billy Graham "The Jesus Revolution". Recently, another revival has broken out at Ashbury University. What becomes of these revivals or awakenings? What effect have they had on our culture and Christianity? Our group takes on these questions in today's episode.

It's the Lenton season on the Christian religious calendar, but is it still important that we follow this ritual knowing we are free and living in Christ? What does God say is our relationship to sin and sacrifice?

Christianity has taught a picture of Jesus that shows Him unrelatable. What happens when our eyes are open to who He really is - here and now in our lives?

God says that we live as Jesus (Gal. 2:20), but does that mean we can call ourselves Jesus? Scott Wakefield joins Dennis for a one-on-one conversation exploring this and other questions. This is the first in a series of discussions by an interested group of the JAU community desiring to go deeper in the revelation of Jesus as Us. Today's conversation focuses on the book by J Preston Eby entitled Savior of the World. We discover that the translation of one word in the original Greek can change our entire view of God and His plan for the future of the world.

Why are so many Christians or religious people in general afraid of asking questions or challenging their accepted doctrines or beliefs? Our group talks about the importance of seeking after the truth with trust in God's spirit to lead us.

The age-old question of how a loving God allows terrible things is explored in our conversation today. If God is love, can He show it in affliction? What does Paul mean by "glorying in affliction" in Rom. 5.3-5?

What does it mean to be "glorying" in Jesus? Paul tells us in Rom. 5:2 that it should always happen when we live in Jesus. Our group talks about what it looks like to hold our heads up high and smile. 

An NFL player after suffering a near death experience declares God has changed how He wants to use him. Does God have to do something dramatic in our lives for us to be willing to be used? How has Christianity quilted people into serving God?

What does it take to manifest Jesus in your life? One of our group members describes his encounter with a homeless lady this past week, and how he wonders what more he could have done for her than just asking some questions and praying for her.
